John McIntosh
John McIntosh joined IPG in 2001 and currently serves as IPG’s Chief Operating Officer. He began his career with The Travelers Insurance Company after graduating from Indiana University. While there, he became the youngest “Class 1” Manager in the history of The Travelers Employee Benefits division while developing new customer relationships with a number of large entities including ALCOA, State of Maryland, The Professional Insurance Agents Group Insurance Trust, Merck, US Postal Service and the Government of the Virgin Islands.
As President and General Manager of CoreSource New England, John worked with brokers, consultants, employers, and organizations on self-funded health and welfare plans. His first new account after arriving in New Hampshire became Summit Packaging Systems in Manchester, NH. Additionally, John was instrumental in developing integrated health care delivery systems in Maine and West Virginia for several physician hospital organizations as well as US Steel, International Paper, Westmoreland Coal, and the United Mine Workers of America. John’s last position before joining IPG was as Regional Sales Director with Tufts Health Plan in Waltham, MA. where he was responsible for large group sales and account retention in Eastern Massachusetts.
John has served as Trustee of Home Healthcare Hospice & Community Services in Keene, NH, an organization providing services which enable people to function throughout life at their optimal level of health, well-being and independence and RiverMead, a continuing care retirement community located in Peterborough, NH. He has also served on The Travelers’ President’s Advisory Council, Harvard Pilgrim’s Health Care Broker Advisory Board, as well as other industry and community organizations.
